Pros

the type of worker that most starbucks tend to attract is enjoyable...

Cons

advancement issues, poor decision making at the top causing the individual stores to suffer...the company was so overly concerned with expansions that we became bloated and now, our employees are suffering for it, but it is necessary at this point. it is extremely hard to bunus even when your store does 1 million+ a year.

Pros

The medical benefits are pretty decent becuase you only have to work 20 hours a week, and the package is cheap. They are raising rates this year though. They also allow you to have a flexible schedule if you are a student, or just want to work part time, but they are starting to change that rule and make employees be available a certain number of hours per week.

Cons

The incompetence of the store manager is really wearing on all the employees. I think the DIstrict Managers should watch over stores more, and realize that the store managers lie and cover their tracks, while making the employees lives a living hell!

Pros

In the beginning Starbucks seemed like a great place to work. As time went on my eyes began to open. There are only two nice things I can say about working for Starbucks. The pay is average and they support flex time. Most people have every other Friday off as a flex day.

Cons

Where to begin? To keep my rant short here are a few things…. - Benefits are awful! I can get better benefits as a vendor/contracting - Growth opportunities are very low if you are mid or senor level - There are very few good managers! Some groups are prone to micromanagers - If you are looking to gain or improve your skills this is not the company for you - There is a high turn over rate for project and program managers - Telecommuting? They talk about it but that is all – as a company that prides themselves on being “green” you would think they would do more then just “talk” about it.
