Pros

enjoying your team and building a trauma bond

Cons

Senior leadership is super disappointing. Do not provide you with enough labor to service your customers. Senior leaders are so far removed from physical labor their brains cannot comprehend the amount of labor needed to successfully run a store where baristas aren’t exhausted and managers aren’t working 70 hours on the floor a week, let alone “run the business like it’s theirs.” Which includes making schedules, organizing/managing inventory, staffing - from having to find the talent, hire, train and coach. Being on call and available 24/7. Attend meetings, have 1x1 coachings with 20+ partners, never have a day off. They might as well pay for your phone because it is only used for work - say goodbye to any social life. OH and all of this to be expendable and considered free labor for less than $70k a year. It’s a good thing you’re always at work because you would not be able to afford to do anything else besides sleep and you’ll be really tired so it works out. Physically, mentally and emotionally exhausting. I started antidepressants because of Starbucks. TOXIC

Pros

Competitive benefits package, decent bonuses

Cons

Unreasonable expectations for work load. Managers , SSVs & baristas who work in the Bay Area do not make enough for the cost of living. Lots of bias happening even though they say they care about each partner . They say a lot of what they think people want to hear to save face but do not always honor their commitments . Also have a created a culture of horrible customers. They are trying to listen more these days but too little, too late Sbux

Company of Hypocrites

Pros

Ok job for first time fresh out of high school kids. Good experience for learning basic cashiering and how to make coffee so long as you take your job seriously and have the aptitude for the job.

Cons

Inconsistent work schedules. Workers not paid enough. Employees nor truly valued like they claim unless they're woke. Covid especially made things worse for the workers: forcing employees to be masked up, even after all mandates were lifted, the company cares more about CDC's mask policy than the health of their employees especially if the policy is causing more of a health problem for the employees than the risk of catching covid itself.
