Pros

Starbucks is a great company that really cares about their employees. They offer some of the best benefits for even part time employees. Medical, dental, and vision coverage available to partners working 20 hours/week. FREE mental health resources and counseling for partners AND family.

Cons

Starbucks promotes some aspects of "woke culture", which is fine, but it can make some of its more conservative or religious partners uncomfortable when they personally do not hold the same perspectives as Starbucks.

Pros

One of the first jobs I truly enjoyed, I loved learning the barista process of creating drinks and meeting such a variety of people. The people I worked with and was able to meet truly made this job fun and I felt a part of something. Training is very streamlined and intense and it gave me that experience I need to work in high paced environments.

Cons

Higher ups in the company don't really care beyond stats for each store, drive thru times and sales. It makes sense but there was always a disconnect to our store needs and the lack of care given to us by district managers and even store managers if you happened to work in a lacksluster store. Dealing with transferring to another store has made me realize the overall company isn't really rooting for you, ESPECIALLY how they dealt with the pandemic. Very disappointing.

Pros

401k with 5% match, Free coffee, Parental leave, SIP, Free tuition with ASU....

Cons

Company does not support managers with a realistic labor for buisness and a good attendance policy. Baristas and SSV if they don't feel like working a day they will just call the store and say I have a headache, or fever, or something else and even if they are doing that weekly you can't do anything about it unless they miss more than 40% of their shifts in the last 6 to 8 weeks. If you hold a barista or SSV accountable they will call your DM or corporate and create a fake story. If you hold any partner accountable for performance or punctuality they end up quiting and even if you leave notes or put not rehireble they end up getting hired next month in other store. Company pay only $10 for a barista and $12.70 for SSV so it is very hard to retain them because they can get much higher pay or similar with less stress. Whenever you talk to your DM to share concerns about low wages or the low amount of hours they give for labor that does not support business growth, stress partners and leaves the DM end up blaming things on you. Your DM will make you feel like you are a bad manager and that people leaves leaders and not the company.
