Pros

I had never worked in an environment with such creative people before and it was a real joy, especially compared to other NYC work places. I made some of my best friends in the city here. The work day is 9-5:30 and I really learned a lot about my field. I think with the new generation taking over, things are taking a turn for the better. The D&D building is a beautiful place to work, this is no cut price carpet store-- it's true luxury goods. Also great PTO policy- you get 4 weeks off fairly quickly!

Cons

Could do with some better training for new starters as this can be a challenging environment for people from design backgrounds without much sales experience.

Thank you for the valuable input. I'm glad our efforts to make Stark a more enjoyable place to work are being realized. Your point about better training is understood and we are already working on different ways to accomplish this. For example, we are in the process of rebuilding our employee-only internal website that serves as an employee's one-stop-shop for any training or corporate information about the company. There is still a lot of room for improvement but I think we are heading in the right direction.

Pros

In the past, the company cared about you as if you were family. Decent benefits for insurance and personal days.

Cons

The company has recently undergone restructuring their management. Due to this, the people that is put in place has acted emotionally rather than professionally in an attempt to show their worth. This has caused a large loss in morale and has many of their best workers looking for new places of employment.

Made to feel like an outsider.

Pros

They have beautiful product. Convenient location.

Cons

I worked as an assistant in the back office of the showroom, not actually in the showroom. I was taking over for someone who was leaving to start a family. I was made to feel like an outsider from the first day. My boss was never around and I was given no training, instruction or direction. My boss and people from the showroom used to talk about me in French right in front of my face. They thought I did not speak French, well I don't at least not fluently, I do know enough to know that there were saying mean things about me.
