Not The Place To Work! Look Elsewhere!!

Pros

Ok benefits. Company also provides a pension plan completely paid for by the employer - not a great plan, but they do offer one, which most companies do not.

Cons

Where to start. Middle management are puppets, have no real authority and provide no real guidance. They hold daily "huddles" where nothing is accomplished but they need to justify their jobs. Most of their "team" have more experience than they do, and know more about claim handling. Employees are disposable, experience and dedicated service to the company is not respected. Employees quit on a daily basis. Morale is horrible and most employees (with more than a year of service) are miserable. They openly interview with other companies and look for jobs elsewhere. Everyone is trying to get out. Starting salaries for onboarding employees is abysmal. Raises are minimal and are subjectively administered. Employees are at the whim of a group of managers who sit around on a particular day with a budget, may or may not even know you, and decide who gets what and how much; it's a joke. There is no objective measure of job performance. Time off and shifts are not administered on any logical basis. Competition is generated among employees to complete tasks. They are judged against each other and production numbers published. The theory of "Remarkable" customer service is spoken but since the employees are so miserable, they reflect that attitude, and policyholders are dwindling. The company stresses "diversity" so droves of minority employees have been promoted without knowledge of the job. The employees working for them have no respect for them or their position with the company because they did not earn it. Customer service is provided from a script and there is no independent thinking or work product. Managers "micro-manage" and limit break time and even bathroom breaks. The newest is a point system for absentee and time off like a demerit system in high school. Employees are treated like children. Most tenured employees would NEVER recommend State Farm to anyone looking for a place to work.
