Pros

Coworkers are great, front line leadership generally trustworthy, lots of different areas of opportunities. If you want a degree or designation you get assistance paying for it.

Cons

If you have any career in claims you won’t be able to get out of it. You can move to another department and get reassigned back to claims at any time, and then they might post a job for the very career you were taken from. Upper management trust level is very low right now. Raises are just enough to adjust for inflation so it’s not like you’re getting a raise at all. If you have low morale it’s perceived as resistant to change. If you want to develop the general response is to get insurance ed but in the end those designations don’t get you better pay, better shifts, promotions, nothing but a very tiny bonus and a plaque/frame on your walk. Other companies offer bigger rewards for cpcu and other designations. Pay is below market value. Even if you make a career change in the company if they don’t have a law in that state to give you anything, they don’t.

Pros

Benefits, flexible work hours, decent wages, nice facilities, Fortune 50 company that is well established in its field. Decent job security.

Cons

Recent changes to company structure have minimized raises and bonuses. All departments are being reduced and minimalized. Management focus is solely on production.

Pros

The benefits are great including a pension plan and good salary.

Cons

There is no work-life balance, very difficult to get time off, micromanaged, claim count too high to manage, impossible to do this job in a 40 hour work week, and it's going from a company who cared about customers to a company that only cares about numbers.
