Some people seem nice enough in the beginning

Cons

after going through the interview I signed a contract for hire. But the start date kept on being pushed back, this went on for several months. I felt I wasted 3+ months between that and the interviews. Beware

Pros

Steampunk offers a wide array of work with in a wide range of government contracts. They incentivize out of the box thinking and the freedom and support to pursue innovative solutions while on contract. If you are interested in very cool work with the freedom to flex your knowledge and expertise they are the company for you!

Cons

The freedom of this job can create a plateau for individuals that don't push for more work and are not interested in being innovative. This comes from project directors having many projects and some times the only guidance you get are the scope of contract. on the reverse side of this if you are innovative and really do well in the role, you can quickly take on more work and responsibility that is beyond your "Pay Grade" and in some cases I have seen lead to burnout.
