Pros

No corporate ladder. Structure is flat. A lot of flexibility and independence. There is a broad range of work to keep one interested. Company does a good job to keep with latest tooling. (Modern C++, Qt6 etc)

Cons

The code base is very large so there is a steep learning curve.

Pros

Supportive environment, no pressure to work overtime. The company maintains high technical standards and strives to improve over time. The company has an honest business model based on continually creating value for the customer, rather than extracting license fees for past work. Employees overall have a high skill level with C++.

Cons

The company is not very discriminating when pursuing work, and accepts a lot of mediocre projects. The company is conservative about adopting new technology. C++ projects involve large code bases with long compile times, which often throttles productivity.
