Pros

An amazing place to work! (I'm 6 months in for context)... Stem is an organization filled with talented people that care about you and your ability to thrive personally and professionally. It's easy showing up each day to a place you love working, getting behind the core values and moving as a team to support music artists and labels. Hands down, one of the many perks of working here is the people. From day one, you're made to feel welcome and given the resources you need to thrive. As someone who moved from the other side of the world to be here, I I very quickly felt included, like my skills would be put to use and I'd be given the space to learn and settle in. Not only that, but the team did everything they could to accommodate the many requirements of an international move...and they didn't muck around! When something critical needed to be filled in and sent off, it was done within a day. I was kept in the loop every step of the way. When people throw around the words "we have a good culture", it can be difficult to know what that truly means without experiencing it first hand. I'm happy to say that that is very much the case here at Stem. In a challenging space, the company makes a point of celebrating each others achievements, big or small. In some of the key team catchups, there's always time reserved at the end to open up the floor to anyone wanting to give someone a shoutout for kicking goals or generally just being a great person. Your efforts and achievements will be seen and celebrated. Part of what makes us great are the diverse skills and talent from around the globe. Each of us come with a unique perspective and it's welcomed. As we continue building tech to tackle big challenges in the music industry, your opinions will count. There's always a forum to pitch an idea, learn something new or raise a concern or challenge that will be met with open ears. For those looking for somewhere where you get to try things, not be bound by perfection but focus more on impact, you'll get that opportunity here. We break stuff, push updates fast and continually work towards a better music industry. As a remote business it's vitally important to stay connected. One of things I really value here is the fact that you'll never feel isolated, but equally given the tools and space you need to do your thing. In person catchups and team planning sessions also help fill the gap for those that love to grab a coffee and get that in person time. From a work life balance perspective, the unlimited paid time off is a truly fantastic perk. Wether it's Stem's CEO Milana Rabkin Lewis, your direct manager or someone else, the message remains the same...that time is yours to be enjoyed and part of your package here. "No one's winning an award for not taking their PTO" was something that was told to me very early on. So we take the time we need, no questions asked and we're all much better off for it. If you love music, big challenges and feeling supported and heard, Stem is the place.

Always pain points in a smaller company, but the good really outweighs any complaints.

Pros

The team is smart, passionate, kind and effective. Everything clicks because people are competent and they care. Leadership draws a great balance on trust, structure and flexibility. Highly collaborative and supportive work environment. Company objectives are honorable, meaningful, and make a real difference in the music industry. Nobody speaks corporate jargon language. Empowering culture, lightweight process.

Cons

Base comp could and should be more competitive.
