Pros

You get a discount and can style yourself

Cons

Just about everything else at this job was a con. Their logistics which they are supposed to be renowned for are what makes it impossible to do a decent job. You NEVER have inventory to style what a client wants. Then you get rated on how the client liked their fix which you couldn't give them. Terrible leadership, too. It's like a sorority of dumb and dumber. At least that's how the Austin leadership was. Sadly, they don't seem to promote you based on any leadership experience or intelligence.

Pros

Great health insurance, and that’s about it.

Cons

Extremely metrics driven. If you miss your goal by .01 one weeks, your manager will pull you into a sit down meeting to talk about performance and will essentially talk about letting you go. CX agents used to attend company wide meetings, but have since been uninvited because of the queues being “higher than normal”. Due to high queues, it’s very hard to use your PTO and requests are often rejected. I put in for time off in April for the holidays, and did not hear if this was approved until the day before I was supposed to be traveling. The pay is average. There are no raises, or bonuses. You may only receive higher pay through a promotion, though leadership is very selective, and plays a bit of favoritism. Good work goes often goes unrecognized. Stitch Fix has a problem with paying employees properly for their time, after employees have put in their notice. It must be a larger issue with payroll and an error in the system, however, of the agents and myself who left, they were paid only a portion of their final paycheck, and their PTO was not paid out. The company fixes this after being contacted, but that should not be something that should be a trend. Good place for employment if you are just starting out, but Stitch Fix is not the place for you if you want to develop in your career and climb the ladder.

Pros

work from home, set your own schedule

Cons

basically everything else. inventory is consistently terrible, I see the same horrible floral print 100% polyester tops now that were in rotation when I started as a stylist two years ago. they'll occasionally invest in trend-forward pieces but they're extremely limited and more often than not too expensive for most clients. this makes your job a boring chore because 9 out of 10 times, you're just cobbling together terrible clothing in the best way you can manage and then trying to hype it up to your client in a desperate and embarrassing bid to get them to buy the pieces. management is bizarrely, artificially positive and if you have a serious logistical question your lead will absolutely not be able to answer it for you. they'll give you some twisted canned response that's really confusing and means absolutely nothing. however, if you want to start an email thread with your "styling team" about your favorite hot coco recipes, they'll be all about it and you'll be celebrated for your fantastic team spirit. it's really, really embarrassing. lastly, and most importantly, our hours have been severely cut for the second time since COVID hit. this most recent cut occurred at the end of December and is ongoing indefinitely. unlike the first time a cut happened, there has been no communication about applying for or receiving unemployment. if I hadn't already had a claim open from the first cut, I would've gone from making enough to help support my family to making about $600 a month. if you're looking for something supplemental this could be decent but do not expect steady income and do not expect to do rewarding work.
