Pros

The only pro to this job is that it’s an easy field to get in and you work from home. That’s it. The benefits for full time are good but they’ve taken it off the table for part time stylists to apply to it for the future.

Cons

Toxic positivity. Any issues or complaints are silenced and told to not cause waves instead of working on solutions. Flexibility has been removed from the position making it impossible to use as a secondary job but they also don’t guarantee enough hours to make it a primary job unless you got a full time role (which they’ve taken off the table for future stylists for the time being again.) The “algorithms” are extremely flawed and all tech breaks and has issues almost daily making it nearly impossible to get a solid schedule like they’re requiring. It’s impossible to plan ahead. They want you to fill your schedule in advance but don’t release the actual hours until Friday for the week that begins the immediate Sunday following, only giving two days of notice on whether you’re even going to have decent hours or not. Inventory is the same year over year in new colors. They don’t take actual trends into account and just stick to “best sellers” that are best sellers because we bought too many and have to send them to everyone. There’s no upward mobility. They’ve hired more and more from outside sources so they don’t sympathize with “lowly” stylists. We’re watching upper management rotate more than tires.

Stylists Are Treated Like Garbage

Pros

Remote Decent starting pay (but good luck with pay increases) There isn’t anything else. The flexibility that once was is long gone.

Cons

Stitch Fix is full of toxic positivity. If you want to work for someone who continues to cheer you on and say, “you got this” and gaslight you instead of facing your concerns with genuine empathy, then you might like being employed here. They change policies all the time, little consistency, and complete disregard for stylists and their opinions and feelings. No one will care about you because you are expendable and there is now too much corporate greed. Only work here if it’s your last resort. I’ve been doing this for almost 4 years and the flexibility that used to be why the job rocked is completely gone. Stylists used to be able to communicate with each other and Stitch Fix leadership had effectively done away with this so that we can’t form a United front. This place is awful.

Pros

If you liked sorority life in college, this is the place to be!! Do you like long, "personal" emails written in fake calligraphy and spotted with GIFS about nothing related to your job delivered to your mailbox every Monday and Friday? Woot, woot-Stitch Fix delivers again! Are you into pin collections over real money and benefits? This is THE place to be!

Cons

You are a worker bee. That's it. Don't get it wrong. No merit raises after your first yr, only tiny 40cent cost of living increases. Micromanaged to death like you're doing brain surgery...cmon, folks we're picking clothes for housewives and now their kids and husbands...over and over and over again. What is there to micromanage? Nothing. Leads-get off your pedelstals...no, I don't need to discuss the same crap we've been discussing since our first mandatory TB. Seriously, the worst, most repetitive, non-creative job ever...and they lie to you on top of it while claiming to value authenticity. You will not have work-life balance like they sell in the interview. You will be GLUED to your laptop with increased anxiety in your life...fun, right?!
