Pros

- 40% employee discount - work from home

Cons

Where do I even begin… - 40% discount is off of overpriced merchandise. You can likely find these same exact items for less at other stores. - If you value and your work and like to help people, this is not the place for you. They want “quality Fixes” (*ahem* results) but give you no time to properly review clients’ profiles, let alone write a personalized note. - constant gaslighting and isolation. All communication is monitored so you can’t speak freely (if it’s anything other than gratitude and appreciation for SF) without retaliation. Stylists were driven to create an anonymous online thread in order to find community and support, if that tells you anything about the environment. - You’re required to use your own computer and your supervisors can see/track what you do at all times - You have to set your schedule in advance and then change it when the work hours are released (2 days before). This is when you find out how many hours you’ll be working for the week. If there are system issues, you’re expected to work around them by constantly checking to see if it works again. If you’re unable to work around them, you lose work hours and have lower performance. - no inventory to work with. Send the same styles from years ago when clients expect (for good reason) fresh styles. Not everyone wants the same top or pants in every color/print. - no growth within company - anxiety from not knowing if you’ll lose your job. Think you’re doing great? Think again. Your lead will find something you’re doing wrong, whether it’s not having enough variety in a Fix (regardless of the abysmal inventory) or having more than a few minutes pause between when you pulled Fixes. But even if you have a laid back lead, Stitch Fix could just force you out by taking away all flexibility and allowing you to “voluntarily quit,” to their benefit. If they can’t get you to voluntarily quit (say, you’re a lead with benefits and pay that are hard to walk away from), they’ll just have layoffs. - this company is failing in all aspects of the business, whether it’s “personalized” styling services or online shopping. If you’re looking for any kind of job security, I’d recommend looking elsewhere.

Pros

- Algorithms department is filled with smart, wonderful people - Good work life balance - Good comp (before the stock price plummeted) - Better general data literacy than most companies (excluding senior leadership) - Many ICs are well protected from the thrash at the top

Cons

- CEO is a deeply insecure career salesperson from consulting; she is completely unqualified to lead the company and resists self reflection on every opportunity - CEO has created many toxic dynamics/politics at the company - Effectively every technical leader has left the company in the last year (largely because of the CEO's incompetence) - Stock price has plummeted

They don’t care about employees

Pros

None anymore. It used to be a great flexible job but they took away all flexibility with the new leadership. Ask anyone who still works there about how toxic it is.

Cons

Toxic positivity from higher ups. They don’t care about you as a human, you are just another “worker” who is replaceable. No growth or bonuses or raises whether you do an awesome job or a terrible job. They give you horrible inventory to work with and then tell you not to mention it to the client. Just a terrible job. In August they paid off a ton of stylists to “quit” because they went from being a 24 hr a day job where you scheduled yourself to a 12 hr a day job that had to be very pre scheduled. Also very micromanaged! Stay away from this company.
