Pros

Set schedule. Monday through Friday. Paid training. Good vacation and PTO time. Medical, dental, vision, matching 401k.

Cons

Pay! One review a year with incredibly low raises not based off of your merit but the performance of the entire branch. Meaning if your coworker isn't pulling their weight, it effects your pay raise or lack of. Several raises are considered to only be a cost of living increase of under $0.50.

Pros

You are allowed the time and latitude to do things correctly. Clearly defined policy. Service trucks are in good shape. Work is mostly fun. You can be a hero and fix gas leaks and keep people warm in the winter.

Cons

Training program is present, but lackluster. Often you will be in a figure-it-out situation. Top heavy in management and you get the feeling shareholders and their boats/multiple houses are more important than bulk plant maintenance and employee comfort. The biggest driver here is making sure the numbers look good so the poop doesn’t roll downhill rather than building a great team through facility enhancements and employee satisfaction. Classic corporate environment.
