Summa Health System reviews

Hire ups don't understand staffing other than what it looks like on paper. They try to change things that are broken. They only look at the business and ratings. Things went down hill when they removed the weekend option program.

1. Management style is very old school and unable or unwilling to keep up with the rapid changes in the industry. (building more ERs than community clinics and after hour urgent care centers) 2. System over-site of compliance issues is lax (CMS, Joint Commission have both found real issues that were minimized by management) 3. Employee policies are often ignored when departments short staffed 4. Senior Management is unable or unwilling to acknowledge and address patient care problems caused by reduced staffing levels. 5. "DERP" effect - Management ignores events which expose system issues, and attack the messenger instead of taking advantage of the opportunity to address the root cause. (If this review were read by senior management they would be more interested in who wrote this than what is being said). 6. Instead of focusing on the above items, management is rolling out a 1980s era dress code that is horrifying to anyone born after 1985. 7-10. Summa's stagnant wages and benefits are causing an ever widening gulf between Summa and the two major health systems in Cleveland, sucking up some of our best practitioners and staff!
