Pros

This is a great entry level job, where an employee can learn a lot provided they put in the time and effort. I found that it was an incredible experience in which I was able to see students grow and build lasting relationships with students, families and other colleagues. Additionally, I was able to gain experience outside the Education Sector.

Cons

Unfortunately, the downside simply cannot outweigh the good in the job. With where I am, there is an apparent lack of consistent communication between senior management and center staff. For the work that we do, I would say that we're substantially underpaid. The hours are long to the point of insanity, the support is lacking, and the expectations are excessive. Never mind that training is severely limited. It's no surprise that there is serious turnover in staff.

Pros

I get to go to work with some of the smartest, most motivated and most caring people I've ever worked with in my 12 year career in marketing, and although every job and company has it's challenges, at the end of the day, I know we are doing things to help the lives of children and their families... We want all students to achieve success and live life to their fullest potential. Everything we do has that mission in mind. That makes me proud and makes me get up in the morning!

Cons

We do a lot with relatively small teams and resources. Of course it would be great if we had more time, people and resources but when you look at what we are able to accomplish, it's pretty awesome!

Pros

Fridays were half days during certain months of the year

Cons

Really long days Really low base salaries Franchisee kept advancement opportunities advertised by the corporation a secret so she wouldn't lose employees. Change in bonus structure constantly so she never had to pay out when goals were reached Franchisee was never happy unless someone's head was on the chopping block
