Do Not Work Here - Toxic

Pros

You will receive a paycheck every two weeks.

Cons

I am very disappointed and frustrated with the current state of affairs with Synergy. In my experience, Synergy BIS lacks organization and structure in its project management processes. There seems to be a lack of clear direction and focus on delivering quality customer-centric solutions. Instead, the primary focus appears to be on securing contract renewals, even at the expense of customer satisfaction. Furthermore, there is a severe lack of opportunities for career advancement within the company. The only incentive or bonus offered to employees is for the completion of certificates, which does not adequately recognize and reward their contributions and dedication. This lack of recognition and value placed on employees by EAS management is concerning and demotivating. Equally disheartening is the disregard for employee suggestions and improvements. It appears that suggestions for improvement are ignored, leading to frustration and a sense of being unheard among both employees and clients. This lack of responsiveness not only hampers progress and growth within the company but also adversely affects customer satisfaction and loyalty. Additionally, it is troubling to note that Synergy BIS seems to waste taxpayers' money with its inefficient operations and lack of clear vision. The Development team, in particular, often appears misguided and disconnected from the client's needs and expectations. This further compromises the quality and effectiveness of the services provided.

TOXIC

Pros

You can make a decent salary, but feels more like entrapment (golden handcuffs). Benefits/401K are good.

Cons

Toxic leadership from the top! Co-Owners set the tone for a disastrous experience. President runs the show & CEO is his puppet. By not addressing toxicity, CEO condones it. You may have a short run of promotions or pay raises but most everyone falls out of favor at eventually. Turnover is atrocious. Nepotism is blatant. Friday afternoons is like Survivor or Hunger Games…you never know who’s getting fired. People disappear like ghosts. You can almost bet they will try and bury this review by 2-3 positive reviews by current employees or complain to Glassdoor this information is false.

Pros

Just to be fair, the money wasn't bad.

Cons

If you enjoy your life right now and don't currently work at Synergy, DO NOT work here. Employees are treated with the worst disrespect I've ever seen and it's the most hostile work environment I've ever experienced. Overtime and weekends are the norm. Personal lives do not exist, even on pre-approved vacation time. Executive leadership puts wildly unrealistic expectations on employees, and if you do not fall in line to do exactly what you're told - even if you're in a management/director-level position, and even if it is far outside of your position requirements - you will be scrutinized, and likely even punished, for not being a team player. I've witnessed borderline emotionally abusive, and actual verbally abusive behavior from grown adults in leadership positions, which was nothing short of horrific. Multiple complaints were submitted, but never taken seriously. If money is worth your personal life and mental health, then you may not have as miserable of an experience, but that's still highly doubtful. Honestly, what is most laughable is the fact that the company may attempt to come up with a retort to my review. If you're trying to save face and apologize now or somehow attempt to explain, then you're completely missing the point. Synergy is the textbook definition of a revolving door workplace, and for a VERY. GOOD. REASON.

Synergy BIS Response

We appreciate your feedback on your experience at Synergy! We have a dedicated team that puts in 100% effort in their work, which may on occasion lead to overtime scenarios when urgent, high-priority tasks arise. Synergy does not force overtime and weekends, but many employees—from CEO to intern—generously offer their extra hours to contribute to the team effort on these urgent jobs. Synergy offers a very flexible and growth-oriented work environment that allows employees to explore other fields outside of their position, learn from others, and greatly expand their resume and portfolio of abilities and skills. It’s a fast-paced environment which not only helps employees get their tasks accomplished but also helps them grow and become future leaders in the industry. Our policy is to hire the best people in the industry, pay them above the market rate and keep them challenged so that they can grow professionally. This type of work culture may not suit everyone, but Synergy continues to encourage a community that steps in to help other departments, exercises new skills, and never stops learning. Abuse of any kind is not tolerated at Synergy and we maintain our anonymous feedback portal in order to receive such reports. In addition, our HR department is always accessible and available to discuss such issues as they arise.
