Pros

The team is very flexible and I am always able to learn something new. The company works with important clients but does its best to value all projects and ongoing tasks within the company. Lower and upper-level management both make their best effort to communicate with all team members and offer their support wherever needed. Everyone I get to work with brings the best attitude possible and show the true meaning of teamwork!

Cons

It is a wonderful place to work, but I think focusing on employee wellness and maintaining the feeling of community has gotten difficult to maintain since everyone is remote. This is something that could be improved.

Synergy wouldn’t be able to provide excellent services to our customers without people like you on the team. We agree that our employee wellness and sense of community are extremely important and need to be a point of focus, especially since we’ve gone remote. Our HR team is always brainstorming new ideas on how to engage with employees and meet even while virtual, and as COVID restrictions are lessening, we’ve been looking into more in-person events such as picnics and holiday parties. That said, we are also very open to suggestions and employee initiative! We are big believers in empowering our employees to start events on their own initiative, just as one would have done in the office. We’ve seen pushups challenges, coffee exchanges, virtual lunches, and more employee-led events pop up since the pandemic, and we’re always eager to encourage and support these events as they are shared. Please reach out to our HR team if you have ideas on what you’d like to see at Synergy!

Job offer Decent pay depending on who you are

Cons

Upper management sucks really. The person in charge has a very weird attitude and can be very hot and cold... extremely phony behind closed doors and sometimes in your face. Forever flustered. There are people in positions that do not deserve them, but because you are friends with the higher-ups, you can basically steal company time everyday. You can only work from home depending on who you are which defeats the purpose of a technology company. For whatever reason sitting there appearing you are doing work is better than actually working from home. Limited growth opportunities.

When it comes to working from home, we in fact highly encourage every employee, regardless of who you are, to telecommute for safety and health during this pandemic if the option is available to us and to our clients. Some of our government customers were slow to adopt telecommuting abilities, and at that time determinations were made based on each person’s risk factors and the ability to productively connect to the customer’s systems. However, at this point almost everyone is working from home. We always encourage employees to use our Anonymous Feedback Portal or contact HR should they have concerns or problems within the workplace, but feedback from the majority of the company indicates positive morale and excitement about the projects we’re supporting as well as enjoyment in working with their teammates. We are aware of many positive-thinking, motivated, and encouraging employees and teams within Synergy. Employee morale doesn’t only come from the leadership, but also from within the team. People stay because they find satisfaction in the quality work they do and because Synergy recognizes, appreciates, and awards their excellent work.
