Pros

Whether you are a recent graduate or someone in the process of considering a change in your career, SystemsAccountants is a great place to make that first or next step in your career. If you also yearn for a company on a smaller scale and not being just a number, SA is a place you will thrive in, as SA is not your typical recruitment firm. For one, SystemsAccountants focuses on a unique vertical that (as their website says) bridges the gap between finance and IT. I did not know these types of jobs existed when I was in college and joining a recruitment firm that focuses on these niche financial systems positions has been a great learning experience and very exciting. SA’s niche specialty in recruiting financial systems professionals also makes SA stand out from its competitors, as SA is able to provide a more tailored service than what you would receive from the large-scale finance/accounting or IT recruitment firms. The management also allows their employees to work across various locations and industries, so you will have the opportunity to work with some of the most dynamic companies in the country and in non-COVID circumstances, be able to travel to different cities to meet with clients and candidates. Another great perk of working with SystemsAccountants has been the people. As I mentioned, SA is a smaller company where you are more than just a number, and you will be spending a lot of time together. The management have continued to initiatives to bring the company together outside of work. The company hosts a great holiday party during Christmas and a summer party to celebrate the financial year-end and for hitting various individual and team targets. The management also takes in new ideas from its employees around corporate social responsibility and diversity & inclusion initiatives. Employees in the US and UK/Europe will send out emails if they are participating in marathons or other fundraising initiatives for causes such as cancer research, suicide prevention, diabetes, and similar causes/charities. The management in the US also took initiatives during my time here to recognize the BLM movement and declare Juneneeth as a company holiday, as well as, recognize the LGBTQ community in their month of Pride, June. The company overall is very much a work hard play hard environment, but an environment that is continuing to evolve and a company where everyone genuinely wants you to succeed and ensure you have every tool and resource available to succeed.

Cons

This role, like any role in agency recruitment, is sales oriented in nature. You will not be able to place candidates in new positions without bringing in clients to work with. Everyone in the business operates on a 360 scale, meaning you are responsible for both business development (clients) and sourcing (candidates), rather than one of these aspects. It is expected that the first 3-6 months are focused on investing in developing client and candidate relationships, so the financial rewards may not be there immediately. However, if you are able to take your own initiative and act almost as an entrepreneur and like you are running your own book of business, you will be able to see the rewards financially, both short & longer term.

Pros

You definitely learn a lot, both on the people/interpersonal skills side as well as on the financial systems side. The management are really eager to help you learn and allow you to go on lunch/coffee/dinner meetings with candidates/clients you are working with, which is really nice. We are all a mixed bag in terms of personalities, but we genuinely get along very nicely. Unlike other recruitment companies, they really value quality over quantity, so it's not a numbers game in terms of placements/clients you get on.

Cons

Not really a con, but given how the company is growing, we are all learning and trying new things all the time in regards to structure, so things change a lot. Not a bad thing though, as management helps you transition very smoothly.

Pros

SystemsAccountants is a great place to work. They take recruitment to the next level. Not only do their consultants help transform the Financial Systems Departments for Fortune 500 Companies and Tech Startups, but they make lasting impact. Keeping their company tight knit, SystemsAccountants have been able to develop real relationships, both overseas and in the USA. SystemsAccountants consistently generates repeat customer activity through excellent referrals, testimonials, and rapport. Their consultants are trained thoroughly on the ins and outs of financial systems, thus they really do grasp the concept of “bridging the gap between Finance and IT.” We are more than recruiters, we are here everystep of the way. Whether you need help in an RFP selection or you need help minimizing financials systems costs, Systems Accountants has a diverse team who can meet all of your Financial Systems expectations. If you are looking to join a company with an inclusive culture you will be overwhelmed with the diversity and deep understanding for people, coupled with financial systems, and long-standing relationships. Furthermore, you will learn what 360 recruitment is all about.

Cons

If you are not looking to be coachable, adaptable, and or roll-up your sleeves, this is not the place for you. It's a work hard play hard environment. They will give you all the tools you need to succeed, it is up to you to choose how you utilize them.
