Pros

When I first came to the company I had only experienced the type of culture that we have only at one other job. While the values were not the same I found it easy to feel like this was the place that I belonged. Now that I have been with the company for over a year I have to say that TBHC is a company that cares about its employees.

Cons

As an account manager finding the proper work/life balance due to routes can be tough. With that said, once you are able to find the balance you are able to find ways to build your routine.

Pros

Good training program for the first couple of months. Vehicle supplied by TBHC for all those miles you'll be driving.

Cons

District managers are not held accountable for their actions. Christian values are not always practiced once the Monday morning meeting ends.

We appreciate your tenure with our Company and the work you did to attract new customers to our foodservice program! Our structure has changed during the last 18 months; Regional Managers in the field have direct oversight for each of our districts and we believe this structure provides consistent leadership and operations across our 14 states. In addition, our Sales Director and Sales Training Manager have direct lines of communication with each of our Territory Consultants which allows for on-going training and development in the areas of responsibility, as well as an additional outlet to share concerns such as the ones you referenced. We are very interested in knowing where Core Values or company expectations are not being met or experienced in any area, so that we can pull together and provide the support that is needed. We also appreciate your comments on the variations in different markets. We understand this can be an issue and we work with the local district team to develop alternative approaches in those markets as needed.

Pros

Great Christmas party, Hunt Brothers really does try one time a year to show appreciation to its employees. More then lacks compaired to what you will be expected to do the preceding year.

Cons

Long hours, poor corporate management with a "know your place" attitude. It's off putting when what is said is soooo much different then actions. "Family environment, friendly, open arms, ears for suggestions, inventive open minds" all things you hear. Then, it's, "don't email me, don't talk to me, I know best for your area even if I have not been there for over a year." Just say yes sir can I have another and you will be fine. If you have ever worked for a back stabbing corporate numbers company, you will feel at home. That's not what they say they are. But ask 11+ year veterans and they will say the same. The culture and feel of TBHC has gone very down hill. Money money money, sell sell sell, hours hours hours, work 14 hours a day as long as we get as much money per truck as possible and btw, take reports home and never see your family. 4 day work week, pshhhh, 55 to 60 hours in that week, still does not make up for it. Makes them feel better though.

We are very disappointed that your experience working for TBHC Delivers does not match our corporate values or mission. Our Company Purpose is to transform lives through great food experiences; and our Mission includes relentlessly finding passionate people to carry out our Purpose and Vision. We do have a hard-working environment, and our Account Managers (who work the 4-day workweeks) are scheduled for 56 hour workweeks (14-hour days). We discuss this thoroughly during the interviewing process for the Account Manager (route sales driver) and even include a ride-along day in that process so that candidates can experience a full, real day in the life of an Account Manager. Our customers depend on our employees to be the best we can be, to help their businesses grow. It’s what our CEO and owner built this Company on, and it’s that passion that we recruit for that keeps our Company strong in our industry! In the last 5 years, our turnover has decreased steadily; our turnover rate is currently under 20% which is lower than industry standard for the type of responsibilities that our employees perform. Since 2012, we haven’t had a single employee leave during the first week of employment, in any role. Recruitment can take more time than we would like. We recruit not only for skills, but sometimes even more so for the passion and the desire to be part of a great environment; something that’s bigger than a job, or a profit - not just for someone to fill a seat. Our customers’ businesses depend on us to help them grow their foodservice offerings in their Convenience Stores. We recently conducted an anonymous survey of our Account Managers to get a sense for why they like it here, and what they say keeps them here. Some of the comments we heard: • I’m a driven, results-oriented individual. TBHC gives me the opportunity to take ownership of my route. The more I put in to the job, the more dividends it pays in regard to monetary compensation. • It doesn’t feel like work when you love what you do. I like to go on vacation and when it’s over I’m not worried about going back to work because I love it. Never had that feeling before. No worries. • I love the opportunity every day to be a blessing and feel like I am truly helping. • Our program has a tremendous impact on store owners and employees. I love sharing in their success and helping them when they are struggling. • The company culture. It works on bringing the best out of people. We appreciate your comments here, and want to reiterate our regret that your experience was not a positive one. We know that people will come and go from our organization for a lot of different reasons; however, we want to be a place that, no matter why someone leaves, they feel they are better off for having worked here.
