Pros

It's a relaxing environment and there are never people standing over your shoulder watching your every move. I have a great boss, but that isn't the case for everyone at TCC.

Cons

This place has absolutely no regard for UX/UI and does not care if our product looks like trash. We have three UX developers in the whole company, and they are not used correctly. They are constantly told to "do something useful", which means coding new functionality. The project managers will even have our UX team do testing over UX. Sometimes I wonder why we even have UX people at all. Our biggest project right now looks awful, is confusing to the users, and is extremely un-user friendly. I'm in a position where I talk to the users every day, and they are so unhappy with our product, yet the developers and project manager don't care. They only care if the system works correctly, and in the case of our biggest project, even the functionality is lacking. Bugs bugs bugs and bugs galore. Honestly, its embarrassing for me to work here and interact with the users who have so much discontempt for our product. When I try to bring this up, I am shot down by lines like "I agree, it’s not pretty, but it passes an audit, and that’s what we need to keep them and us focused on. Pretty comes after compliance. " Then, during the scrums, our client's management team is voicing everything that is wrong with the system, and its like the project manager doesn't even listen to them. After the call, he says "I don't understand where we went wrong." I grew up in the age of technology and as a young person I do not bother with websites that look terrible. If I need a service and the website looks like junk? I find a different company. If I was a potential client for this company I would take one look at our products and close the tab. This company brings in millions of dollars from these projects. It has the potential to be a great company with great products, but right now, our products are lacking. It is a very simple fix, but without some changes in personnel and how management runs the place, it won't change.

Complete lack of vision and poor management

Pros

When I started in 2015, things were good. The company was growing and headed in a good direction. They cared about their employees and invested in them. Management was a bit lax but they were open and welcoming to new ideas.

Cons

The last two years has seen a pretty steady decline ever since 2 of the owners were indicted on federal charges. There has been a lot of turnover in key personnel and complete mismanagement of projects resulting in extreme overages and non-profitability. They have completely stopped investing in their people and not only their employees but also their customers are extremely dissatisfied with what they are delivering vs. what they promised to deliver. They underbid jobs to get contracts and then cut corners to deliver sub-par products. This company is completely run by developers who don't have a clue about any role that isn't development. There is no visible central leadership and no vision to unite the company around. This place is totally dying on the vine.
