Pros

decent pay and benefits. the people are nice. I really loved the old company.

Cons

CEO is a puppet master but not a very good one. Pulls us in for quarterly planning meetings which dont focus on verizon and undermine the efforts in the field plus weve already been pulled in way too much because we keep changing everything in on short notice. Nothing really useful comes from these planning meetings. This used to be a fun place with a good vibe but its very corporate now and all but a couple of the fun leaders who actually love their people are gone. people believed in them but struggle to believe in Scott because he is sitting on a pile of cash and doesnt really care to keep his best people around as long as he's got the money he needs. He says he cares but his actions are almost always different than his words. he will probably sell and leave them high and dry while he travels around the world going to fish concerts and telling people how amazing he is at running businesses (into the ground.) The new pos build is a huge distraction and I'm expected to do that plus my full time job with no pay increase. I've given almost a decade of my life here and even moved when the company closed down the old office and yet I no longer feel like I'm part of something special. that's really too bad because there was a time where I loved this company.

Culture of Fear

Pros

The only pro I️ can say is that I️ enjoy my store manager and all but one of my fellow employees.

Cons

Don’t know where to begin... I’ve been working in the Verizon Retailer industry for over 5 years with several Verizon Premium National retailers. This is by far the worst. The company is clearly hemorrhaging money as there have been 3 different pay structures in the 4 and half months I️ have worked here. Each one has cut pay significantly with the newest being an absolute slap in the face. With the newest pay structure came new “minimums” that each employee must hit each month or they will be fired at the end of that month. As this is a sales job, sales minimums can be expected; but telling all current employees that they need to sell a certain number of devices in just one month or be fired is just unacceptable. There needs to be some form of corrective action or an attempt to help that employee improve. The company has a program called, “Culture of Good” that is supposedly to become part of our communities and help them. However, what they have created is a “Culture of Fear” for their employees. “Make us more money so we can pay you less, or you’re fired.” Not the kind of company I️ want to work for. The company’s Purpose Statement is, “At TCC, we believe our communities need more than just a wireless retailer, and our employees want more than just a job. We are committed to making a positive and sustainable impact in the lives of our employees, customers, and communities.” Nothing could be farther from the truth unfortunately. This is a great statement to get new employees in the door but they do a horrible job of keeping those employees and listening to their concerns. Ultimately it all falls on the leadership. It is very clear that Scott Moorehead is not interested in finding and keeping quality sales reps who enjoy their jobs and want to make a living doing something they love. All that matters to him is money. It is clear that he has surrounded himself with a leadership team who is either unable or too afraid to let him know that he is running the company into the ground. A good leader surrounds himself with people who will keep him from making the stupid mistakes he has made in running the company and who aren’t afraid to speak up. Scott has lost touch with the industry and with his employees. He has become the “Man in the High Castle” who won’t stoop to the store level to listen to his employees.

Pros

Some of the few original people who are still there.

Cons

Ohh man. This sucks to write. It really does. You read these reviews and think 4,5 6 years ago that you would never say or see these things people are writing about Moorehead. What happened Moorehead? You used to have people who would do anything to represent you, anything to be part of the family. Now you have people writing comments with nothing but hate. What hurts the most is some of the people know how good it was back in the day. When you trusted people to do their jobs, and allowed them do it their way. You started managing for money, and not for the people. You guys have completely lost what made you the best. And seeing how things are done nowadays, you will never get it back. You may think you can, but you wont. Your so focused on Money you have washed the people out that loved to work for you. This is going to be one more comment that gets lost to a recorded response. I do not want to see the same response from someone in the back office who is just going to click " Copy/Paste". The moorehead I used to know would actually care about these negative reviews. The moorehead I know, could not sleep knowing these things are being written about the company their family started in Marion.

TCC Verizon Authorized Retailer Response

Hello. Thank you for sharing your sincere concerns about TCC. To see an employee with your dedication and love for the company step away really strikes a chord with us, a sour one at that. I want you to know that there is an actual person reading and listening to these kinds of posts, and I assure you that we're doing everything we can to make things right. I've been forwarding these messages and concerns to the ones who need to know of these experiences, and I will do the same for yours as well. We want to change to help make working, shopping with us an enjoyable experience, so thank you for letting us know how you feel.
