Thank you for your review! We’re not sure why you didn’t click the “Recommend” button, but we certainly appreciate your feedback! Please let us know if there’s anything we can do to change that X into a checkmark Unfortunately, as you note, raises in a role are restricted by the rates we bid for that position. That is, when we bid 3% increases each year, we can’t increase rates more than that 3%. That said, there’s sometimes an opportunity to switch to a new job within a project, which could lead to a larger salary increase, or to move to a new project, where your salary would be based on the rates in that new project. Please keep your eye on the open positions report you get from Recruiting every Monday.

Very Solid But Could Improve

Pros

TCG works hard to create a great company culture. Lots of smart people and a caring environment.

Cons

TCG's vacation/parental leave time is not up to industry standards, and they do not pay for training time. This is surprising for a company that cares about employees as much as they do.

While we can't always provide as much vacation time as we'd like, we offer a number of ways to ensure work/life balance is maintained, employees are energized and engaged, and we are all able to produce our best work, all the time. You might want to look into the Vacation Purchase Plan, or talk to Happiness about your time-off needs. Our parental leave plan matches or is better than six of the top ten largest government contractors (who have the largest budgets for such things, so it’s a good aspirational comparison). It’s a solid start. We will work on improving this over coming years. (It is complicated because we have to answer to our government clients and American taxpayers, instead of the stock market and investors.) We are always looking at ways we can expand our benefits for new parents. Keep the feedback coming!

Pros

I love working with my SES and GS15 clients on important, strategic issues. They really take my recommendations to heart and appreciate the honest, open approach that TCG allows me to take.

Cons

TCG is not the biggest firm, so you might have to wait a while before finding a new project if yours ends or you want to do something different, but TCG is growing so I expect any wait time will decrease.

It’s wonderful that you know the importance of your work and you are contributing in ways that fulfill you. Changes in project assignments may not come as fast as one might like. Pay attention to the quarterly business development briefing. Maybe you’ll spot something that you can help win and then work on!
