Pros

Good benefits, employee owned (so they say) paid education, paid uniforms, 100 dollar a year boot and blue jean allowance. Large scale projects meaning you get good experience on a vast variety of different things.

Cons

Too much overhead. A lot of smoke and mirrors. Whole lot of buck passing. A lot of brother-in-law scenarios. Very low chance of promotion. Low pay (NCCER certified pipe fitters and welders make 21.50 tops ) Company is too large. Deep line in the sand between office and field. They say they are "Partners" but I never felt it. They always toot their horn about making the Forbes top 100 companies to work for 152 years in a row (maybe less) ; I guess so when you tell your employees what to write.

I worked for the TD Ft. Worth branch and it was good at first but all they really care about is the numbers. They don't care how good you are. I was there top chiller tech in Ft. Worth. It's a shame that TD has so much potential but it's management that holds it back. I seriously questioned there capabilities when it comes down to chillers. They dont bid there jobs right and then want to blame you for it.

Medical benefits are good. Training is ok.

Cons

They don't have the necessary equipment to work on chillers. Had to go to Dallas to get equipment every time. Management doesn't bid jobs correctly and then they want to point fingers. All they care about is the numbers on contracts even if it's to cut corners. Very little or no growth in the chiller end.

They are definitely flexible about family matters, they are great about continuing education when you push for it.

Cons

Oh the drama here...It is all about titles, do not even to attempt to help a co-worker because they assume youre trying to take their job.
