Pros

Challenging work, somewhat flexible work schedule, dynamic product, bright employees that are hard working. For those of you who like complex and challenging work with little to no guidance, this work environment may be for you. Good opportunity exists to add to your healthcare IT knowledge base.

Cons

Poor leadership. Nepotism. Innovation and ideas are discouraged most of the time. Not much of an opportunity to grow and move up. Management does not seem to value employees nor ever have the time for them. Due to this constant lack of time to invest in the people, the company struggles with processes and could benefit from slowing things down a bit to invest in its people so as not to lose more valuable employees. Telcor could really benefit from training for management on leadership skills. A leader builds their people up and advocates for them. Unfortunately what occurs at Telcor is tearing down and dividing the team. Unrealistic timelines are set and expected for projects, yet perfection is also expected. The workload can be overwhelming for workers who want to deliver quality work. Long hours can be expected throughout the year, not just every once in a while, even though management will tell you that extra hours are only expected 'on occasion'. Extra time continually given is not appreciated and will not further your advancement. It can be tricky to balance your work time with your personal time all while trying to deliver quality work and maintain a healthy attitude. The executive team is bright and talented, yet this is overshadowed by their attitude of superiority and their joyless and unthankful spirits. This is unfortunate since it is the product and ultimately the loyal customers who suffer the most - not to mention the team members who Telcor depends on so much and who have all contributed to the success of the company. What saddens me the most is that the product truly is dynamic; there are many talented, bright and dedicated employees and much potential exists for Telcor, but unfortunately when the tree is unhealthy, then so is the fruit.

Pros

It's a very casual work environment. Increased knowledge regarding IT/Healthcare is beneficial.

Cons

It is a very difficult environment to work in - executive management is ego driven and moody. If an employee is not related to management or a friend of management they are treated indifferently or at times completely ignored (eg. not even acknowledged at a company social gathering, passing in the hall, etc.). Considering the size of the company (less than 100 employees) that's not only unprofessional but also rude. Minimal to no training with extremely high expectations of successful work output. The open work environment does not bode well for HR - an office would be much more appropriate--in an effort to keep things confidential.

Pros

I learned my capacity for endurance and patience.

Cons

The Company is best characterized as an season of 'Survivor'. The mentality of most employees is to vote off the next Non-Survivor with as much deception, bullying, lying, and back-stabbing as possible. It is beyond 'toxic', it is a health hazard to work there. Any person with any gentleness, virtue, or kindness will need to choose the consequences of trying to promote a healthy work environment vs being in an alliance to save yourself.
