Pros

Management back a family-first mentality. The work needs to get done, but not by sacrificing home. Solid training is offered in any relevant field you need or want. Everyone is approachable. Plenty can go wrong in the field, but I can always ask other engineers or management for help, any time of day to night.

Cons

It can take a while to get field training depending on how much work is coming in for the task you need to be trained in.

Overall good

Pros

Fair compensation , acknowledge employee successes, respect work/life balance with openPTO

Cons

Extremely low meal allowance of $45- they say only a guideline but there is nowhere in the country where $45 is a reasonable allowance Mileage reimbursement .56/mi. is federal rate from a few years ago. The reason given is that employees can itemize on their tax return is questionable as virtually no one itemizes any more with standard deduction now increased. Should follow federal mileage rate as most companies do.

Hello and thank you for taking the time to provide us, as well as the Glassdoor community, your thoughts thus far into your tenure with us. You do highlight a valid point — our meal allowance, as you stated, is simply a guideline — it's not the law. We make clear and constantly reiterate to our field employees or those that travel that it is simply a guideline to be cognizant of, but to have conversations with your manager if you know you're going to a large city where costs tend to run higher. Given that we have employees across the US and Canada, prices fluctuate geographically. While $45 in Texas will certainly cover a meal, it most likely will not in New York City. So, again, that's why we encourage that dialogue with your manager so those accommodations can be met. Thank you again for being a member of our team — we look forward to what we both can accomplish in 2024 and beyond.
