Pros

- Very fast paced with lots of learning - Great culture with great people who want you to succeed - It feels like a startup, which means you can impact the product at a high level - Good work-life balance - Immediately get to contribute to the product (even as an intern or junior engineer) - Use cutting edge technologies to solve big data and machine learning problems

Cons

The startup culture (fast pace, learning on the job, etc.) is not for everyone, so be sure that's the type of work you want!

Pros

From the first day you join, you're going to be involved in high stake and big impact projects. Because of the skyrocket trajectory of the company, you end up working across many timezones and offices (LA, NYC, TLV, London, Bangalore, Bangkok, etc.), as well as dealing with international (Germany, UK, Japan, Korea, Mexico, France, etc) and big names customers and partners in the Industry. Taboola R&D uses the latest technologies (ReactJS, NodeJS, Spark, Kibana, Cassandra, BigQuery, etc.) so as an engineer, this is the dream job when you want to get your hands on real life use cases! Many Taboola R&D teams also follow Scrum and pushes you to deliver quick-to-market and production-ready increments of your projects. There's never a dull moment! TL;DR - If you are scientifically curious, you love solving complex puzzles, you enjoy working in a fun team, and you are not afraid of new technologies, come join our Taboola R&D team! PS: there's also catered food, free drinks, ping pong, outing/activities, hackathon, meet up

Cons

This is a challenging environment, people will question your decisions so it's important that you can articulate your thoughts. You're also typically part of a team, and if you're doing great, you will be moved to other teams to broaden your knowledge of the technology stack, so you could be involved in front end and middle layer technologies! At times, it will feel like a mountain of work to do in a short amount of time, but you're here to learn to be more efficient, better manage your time and priority, and work as a team. Commute time is bad but this is LA, so little we can do /shrugs

Thanks for the feedback! We believe in letting our engineers impact major projects from the start, I’m glad you find that fun (some might find it scary). I hope you know that (mostly) people aren’t questioning your decision as much as they are making sure their their voices are heard.

Pros

I have worked for many years as an engineer at Perfect Market, which was acquired recently by Taboola. It was great to realize how much of a match the culture, drive and passion that both companies shared making for an excellent acquisition. Working at Taboola now is casual, fun and challenging in a good engineering way. I would probably compare it most to the type of culture and work ethic you would see at companies like Facebook and Google. Light weight management that is very engineering strong making great decision for the company, which make sense. Engineers are driven and passionate on what they do. Culture is casual, motivated and people really do care about each other. Our CEO Adam is not only a great speaker but passionative, driven and very engaged with making our vision happen. As an Engineer I have the ability to work on frontend or backend or both in an agile fashion, which not only keeps me engaged but also sharpens my skill set to new tech. Taboola management works very closely with engineering so ideas can go upward and help shape product direction. It really is a great time to work for Taboola and I would definitely recommend it to any engineers out there that want to make a difference, ramp up their skills and work with a great team.

Cons

The office location in Pasadena is not that ideal as most tech companies are on the westside. However the location is right next to a lot of restaurants, which make it nice at lunch time.
