Pros

You don't need any industry experience. You can make decent money.

Cons

They will chew you up and spit you out. The benefits are well below industry average--PTO is only 10 days, which includes sick time, and they will dock you for every minute missed--and the medical insurance is expensive. You're expected to work more than 40 hours a week, plus do "team" activities outside of work hours, which usually include copious amounts of drinking. The people are very cliquey, so if you are not one of "them", get ready for high school attitudes. No real opportunity for advancement--you can be in "recruiting" (read: sales) or a "sales manager," but there is very little real difference, and that is it. Lots of employees straight out of college and a very immature environment overall. Their business model is stuck in about 1998.

Pros

There are very few positives about this company. The only aspect of this company that is remotely positive is the moderately welcoming and family atmosphere.

Cons

1. Career Opportunity- There is no career advancement opportunity at Technipower. All this company cares about is having you for as long as possible before you inevitably decide to leave. They've made their money off of you and they can replace you just like that and do the same thing to the next person. -Arbitrary territory allocation- When you are hired on, you are randomly placed into a territory that may or may not be a profitable or have the chance of profitability. Some individuals get placed in to better territories than others and, obviously, have a much higher performance. Management needs to stop being lazy and actually create a business model. -"Management" style- The management system at Technipower is a complete joke. The people that are "managers" are mostly managing just one or two people and have absolutely no place being managers. I have never seen a company of 50-100 people with 20-30 managers. It makes no sense at all. The people they call "managers" still have an extremely low base pay and are paid less then most other companies pay their employees that are just starting out. -Recruiting system- There are way to few recruiters at Technipower. There are several urgent job orders you have that simply never get touched by the recruiter because they are too busy working other jobs. I've never ran across another recruiting company that is so bad at something as simple as this. 2. Compensation and Benefits -Salary- The starting salary is absolutely appalling. It is near basic poverty levels and they bank on hiring gullible people that don't have a college degree or those who really believe them when they say you have a chance at 100k or more. This is simply laughable. They will tell you that they make up for their low salary by offering more commission, which isn't really true because the percentage they offer is at the same level or slightly higher then other recruiting companies. Upper management forgets that people need money to have a normal life. If you don't increase salaries, this company will continue to be a revolving door. -Benefits- The medical insurance they offer is virtually unaffordable. Even if you can afford it somehow, the actual benefits are terrible and not worth it. It would be better for you to seek insurance on your own and not through them. They do offer a 401K but with virtually no matching. 3. Work/Life Balance- If you want to be successful at this company, you will have to sacrifice a lot of your social life. The system they have in place does not allow you to be successful; thus, you have to work harder then most to make it. 4. Senior Management- What was outlined above speaks for itself. I feel like the only thing they value is the $$ you create and not the employee itself. They don't care if you quit, as long as they can hear the next gullible person to replace you. 5. Culture and Values- they do have some non-profit recognition, which is good.
