Pros

There are good people outside of management equally frustrated, they deserve better.

Cons

-I left a good job for this company because I liked the product line and was told about all the projects that were lined up. Was very excited for my first day. -Within a week I was looking for work even called for my old back. There were no projects, company is a software equipment reseller. Also quickly realized that this was a toxic, restrictive environment where employees, their personal lives and goals are neither considered or respected. -There is a strict set of rules regarding cell phones use, where you can sit, how you walk and talk, use of materials ( had to use a company issued notebook) you are recorded, watched and judged it is the most toxic joyless work environment I've ever worked in, one manager complained because he heard laughing. DON'T TRUST ANYONE. -The CEO is short tempered, belligerent and a bully. He yells, throws stuff at people, snaps his fingers. He is very condescending, all traits shared by his senior staff. - Much of the management team is cowardly, complicit or a cousin and will not have your back. Many are unqualified for their jobs from a technical and managerial perspective. They do not know how to show basic decency or kindness to their employees. -The directions you are given to do a job is often incomplete and inconsistent. The information required is never provided or is given out piece meal. You are not given the tools or opportunity to succeed but that won't stop the blame. -Five star ratings were completed by interns who were "encouraged" to do so. -My best day there was my last day there.

Pros

Tecore is a decent company with potential to be a lot better. I liken Tecore to a ship with a great crew that keeps the ship afloat, but their efforts and talents are wasted by the decisions made by the head of the ship. But for now let's talk about the pros. - The engineering department is filled with extremely intelligent, kind, and friendly people. - The managers of the engineering and test departments are knowledgeable, kind and are always willing to lend an ear. - The managers in the engineering department stand by their employees. - You will gain a lot of experience in a very short time. Technical experience, as well as communication experience - You will work on many projects and be exposed to many products. - Nice amenities in the breakroom - Company lunches and events every so often - Okay benefits

Cons

The engineering and test departments are filled with wonderful people who work hard everyday. I can't speak too much on the other departments as I did not interact with them that often. As for the engineers, Unfortunately a lot of their efforts are wasted on projects that will never see the light of day due to the ever changing priorities and whims sent from the top. These changing priorities result in an ever increasing stack of products for a severely short staffed engineering department. The non-engineering management can't seem to keep track of the tasks assigned to the engineering department. This in addition to the ever changing priorities results in the upper management reprimanding the engineers on a cycle for not having completed some task that they themselves told the engineers to drop in favor of some new task. Those are two of the bigger cons, but I will now list some of the other cons: - Stress and anxiety caused from the two problems mentioned above - Low starting pay - Limited upward mobility/No opportunities for growth - Lack of communication between sales and engineering - Engineering plans uprooted by upper management - Sinking ship atmosphere(caused by the frantic changing of priorities in what "seems" like an almost desperate attempt to acquire sales.) - Feedback and suggestions fall on deaf ears once they leave the engineering and test departments. - Even though the company is a capable of allowing teleworking, and even though many of the employees and managers were pleading for it, the CEO was reluctant to allow it at the onset of the Covid crisis. - Everything starts from the top and you can tell a lot about the character of a person by their actions and so I will leave you with this. The CEO, a fully abled individual, parks in the handicap spot.
