I soooo wanted to love this job!

Pros

The major pro of this job are the co-workers. I have worked with such an amazing team of nurses. They were GREAT start to finish! Temple is a great hospital and I always felt safe here, the security is superb.

Cons

Unsafe nurse ratios for case managers, the demands are literally ( I kid you not) impossible and unsafe. You can expect to take on more responsibility and an increase in pt assignment with little/no support every single day. This is a great hospital but NO support given to case managers and the increased in demands are impossible. I really wanted to love this job. pon weekends expect anywhere from 120-200 pt assignment. I am an experienced nurse who took pride and truly cared about the patients. Management is NOT supportive. I have seen so many Case Managers run out the door. How much are you willing to take?

Great job stability, hiring difficulties impact team

Pros

The job stability in my current department is great. I understand that is not the case in all places in Temple. If I want to try a different position --- even in a different field --- I can get free tuition (undergraduate or graduate) and train in that field, then transition into it without an interview. I was able to do so in about a year and a half.

Cons

Some departments inability to hire and retain competent workers impacts the entire team. Positions go unfilled for years, leaving current workers to pick up the slack for tasks they have no experience or qualifications for.

None to honestly speak of.

Cons

Lack of support and leadership that does not have a clue. To avoid being blamed for the numerous short comings, the culture is that of it's not my responsibility and no one clearly has an idea of what should be done to achieve any goals.
