Collaborative Environment Working Towards a Common Goal
Pros
The potential for learning and growth here is unparalleled. It is a fast-paced environment full of a lot of brilliant people. I've been here for about 3 months, and have learned so much. You really can create your own opportunities here with hard work and connecting with other team members. I've worked at quite a few different startups, and Tempus is unique in that the teams are so much more cross functional. Team members are very open about sharing what they're working on/wins for the week/challenges/etc. Having labs on-site is a really cool feature. It reminds us all what we're working towards, and that our day-to-day affects real patients. Some other perks include fun cultural activities like themed Friday happy hours, volunteer initiatives, ping pong table, snacks, etc.
Cons
The fast-paced environment can feel overwhelming at times, and that sort of environment isn't for everyone. Being that its a startup, processes change a lot, so you have to be okay with that. The learning is very hands on, and you have to be comfortable asking for help if you need it.
