Pros

Tempus is a unique place and idea. There is a real, shared sense of purpose and it manifests itself in the hardest-working and most inordinately imaginative people I've ever known. I work on the Technology team, which includes Engineering, IT, Product Management, and Design. My bias is inherent, but I think this department is leading the rest of the company on people, culture, and learning/development. We're growing so rapidly that there is incredible opportunity for career growth. I often joke that "Tempus years" are the equivalent to 3-5 yrs elsewhere. I started as an individual contributor and now I lead a team of 22. I wish I could get my grad school years (and tuition) back because I learn more in 6 months at Tempus than I did in my entire master's program.

Cons

Tempus moves really fast. For real, at least 5x what you are used to anywhere else. You have to be up for that to be successful here. You're going to be pushed beyond your comfort zone of learning and adapting to change. If that's not the challenge you're looking for, look somewhere else.

Talented group of people solving difficult problems

Pros

- very talented engineers, designers, product folks - very rewarding work/goal to help cancer patients - will promote individuals - managers reward hard work - challenging technical work - will give equity in the company - free barista in office - free snacks/drinks

Cons

It can be a go go go mentality on the engineering side, but management gets that and allows some time to slow down in between quarters for a reset
