I couldn't get out soon enough

Pros

The hours were flexible, and the people I worked with were all pretty nice. My workload was not at all unbearable. And I was certainly given time to learn the ropes.

Cons

I started as a data analytics intern doing a linear regression prediction model for their claim reports. I had a semester of college left, and I supposedly had a shot at getting hired full-time once I graduated. However, when I graduated, they said that they were no longer hiring new people. I had a bachelor's degree in statistics from a great university, and I was doing high-level work for $15/hr. Not to mention the higher-ups in the company hardly even batted an eye at the information I provided them with. They knew they needed a business/data analyst, but they had no idea how to use me.

Pros

Good career opportunity. They offer certification and license training for those who want to learn and grow within the company. These certifications can qualify you for supervising or management positions. The training I’ve received and the experience I’ve acquired through terminix has taught me to be professional and thorough at what I do in business

Cons

Crawlspace inspections can be uncomfortable doing. This requires a level a physical stamina and boldness to go underneath someone’s house. A pest control technician may encounter wildlife such as snakes, mice, possums etc. underneath a home. Working with pesticides can be toxic and requires protocol safety procedures when handling chemicals.
