Pros

The people are great. We work together to find solutions when needed. They have the most talented and knowledgeable RSM and operator, specifically in So Cal. You have so many avenues to get information, this is the place be if you want to be in this industry.

Cons

The company has strayed away from being able to even compete selling fumigation against competitors prices. This has changed EVERYTHING! The fumigation department is now run by a third party whose sole purpose is to free Terminix of any liability when selling fume. The problem is that as a result, for this 3rd party to sustain itself, we now need to sell fumigation at 130% the cost of the market average. When customers hear the prices, they do not want to fumigate with us and now the companies fumigation sales are down to about 25% of what it used to be. The problem is that the pay structure has not changed. Management is expected to hit 118% of last years numbers in order to bonus. They say they are changing this pay plan and that the change is coming soon, and this time they mean it, but of course that time has yet to come. So far the pay plan to be changed was mention over 1 1/2 years ago, the fumigation situation took place 4 months ago and that also changed nothing. Think about it, they were able to sell off an entire sector of the company in about 6 months. That short time frame is remarkable, to sell an entire sector of a company to another entity. And understandably, they said we’ll figure it out as we go. There was just no time to wait for that part of the company to be sold off. On the other hand, you have a pay change that was discussed over 1 year ago, and not one thing has changed. At some point it would be fantastic to reflect that the company does care about its employees and do something positive for a change. There’s a new VP here now, hopefully he can do what the previous VP couldn’t and make that immediate change. We are talented managers who do what is asked and more for salary, no changes have been made to pay. Sooner or later, the company will have to add the cost of hiring and retraining new talent because it isn’t possible to work here under that current pay plan. Please fix this already and live up to your promises. Stop saying this will happen soon or next month....make this change effective yesterday. Also, they need to stop putting so much effort forward into doing all the training just for another company to snatch that person once they are a valuable and knowledgeable asset to the company. Why do you continue to create great people just to Lose them to competitors? Work smarter, not harder. Stop burning people out, and if your going to burn them out, at least make it worth their while $$$ Please stop losing talent.

Pros

Sales role has a base salary of $42,000 plus commission. You also receive a company car, gas card, lap top and cell phone. It's a good set up, I suppose. It's why they got the 1 star I gave them.

Cons

Almost everything else. Saying I was employed there is a stretch. I was offered a job, but countered the offer before withdrawing all together. After being offered, I was called THE NEXT DAY saying that the offer was being pulled because they didn't have a branch manager at my location. Imagine being offered a job, turning in a notice to your employer, only for them to pull the offer because they realize they don't have a branch manager. Employees also seem miserable because of the lack of management and recent change in pay structure. Finally, if you aren't already an employee, don't expect to be hired for a management position. They promote from within hardcore, which is great! But, hiring a less qualified current employee than a more qualified outside employee is just dumb.
