Pros

You get a nice truck. Seriously the only positive part when I worked there.

Cons

I'm not sure where to start. Everything in the company is set up to blame the technician. If anyone within the company doesn't do their job the blame will fall on the tech. The company constantly finds ways to decrease pay. Terminix comes out with a new pay plan every two years and it's a pay cut every time. The hours are insane, you have day from 7am- 7 or 8pm. They're the only company in the industry that has technicians on the road that late. Terminix sells pest control over the phone. The salesmen don't receive charge backs if anyone cancels. The salesman or saleswomen tell new customers to cancel after their bugs are gone. The technician has to pay the money out of his check and the salesperson gets paid for a full year of the commission. I'm going be honest, I can't believe there isn't a class action lawsuit against them for unethical payroll deductions. It's only a matter of time before the right person decides to Pursue it. One of the biggest cons of working at Terminix is the horrible health insurance. My kids have health problems and they were being denied basic claims that used to be covered. Terminix is a self insured company, they charge you an arm and a leg to get insurance and the deductibles are so high and you will constantly get denied and have to jump through hoops. It's not good insurance for a family. You are also required to sit at night and call customers who owe money to the company. You are not compensated for this in any way. Once the customer does not pay their bill, the money will come out of your check. The sad part is the company will resell the same customer pest control again and the cycle repeats and you will pay out of your check again when the customer doesn't pay. The sad part about all of this: The company thinks this is normal. They think it's normal for you to work ungodly hours and receive little compensation. This is the worst place to work in residential pest control hands down. Your head will spin with disbelief of what's expected of you. You have to navigate through a sea of ways they monitor you throughout the day and you can't focus on the actual job. It's an insane amount of conflicting rules that all contradict one another.

Pros

Company Car thats very dependable you can use for personal and business. The gas card works out well. Sale over 30k a month to see a somewhat ok paycheck. In the beginning they will feed you feed you feed you

Cons

Salary 20000k after training Promise you leads and turns out to be not worth it if you want to work for a low paying salary go right ahead a lot of hours that doesn't equal the amount the take back more than they give out..No organizational skills when it comes to pay I went weeks without pay..Cold Calling Doorknocking and refferals doesn't equate to what your paid to be successful you will have to work all the time including Sunday plan to work every Saturday 6 days Sunday is not an off day they expect you to make precalls and set appointments the worst sales company I've ever worked for..

Pros

If you're able to get through training and set up with management that is very transparent about benefits , expectations, and hours, you could do well during the spring and summer months .

Cons

I still work at terminix and so far its been a nightmare when it comes to getting the correct info. I became ill and had to leave early 3 days during the last month . Not once was I told that I didn't yet qualify for the promised 3 sick days, two personal days, and 14 vacation days until 90 days was up. Not once . Then I was called in and chastised for missing work. My sales manager changes company policies all the time and is never consistent in what he wants me to do . They will tell you you only work one Saturday a month but it is a flat out lie. They say that and then tell you that all the successful people don't take Saturdays off and if you do you are chastised for it. There is no work life balance at all aand under the new pay plan unless you sale over twenty grand you make nothing in commission. Nothing .
