      Call Center Cog: A Dehumanizing Work Experience

      I learned nothing useful here! It's a callous factory that only cares about profits, not its employees.

      It was the most dehumanizing work experience of my life. Management was callous and indifferent to the well-being of their employees, and we were treated like cogs in a machine. The pressure to book appointments was relentless. We were expected to make dozens of calls per day, and we were constantly monitored by our supervisors. If we didn't meet our quotas, we were reprimanded and threatened with termination. The work environment was also extremely toxic. There was a lot of gossip and backstabbing, and the sales reps often talked down to the Appointment Setters. Management did nothing to address this behavior, and they even encourage it at times.

      The Appointment Setter position focuses on making a minimum number of B2B cold calls each day and setting appointments for our sales representatives. The expectations are not unreasonable for an experienced Appointment Setter. During the interview process we clearly explain in detail what the position involves, so the candidate is already aware of the job expectations and proficiencies that are required before any job offer is made. As with any position, if an employee does not meet expectations, there will be coaching provided, and sometimes a performance improvement plan. It sounds like this opportunity was not the right fit for you, and that sometimes happens. Additionally, our company does offer wellness programs, mental health resources, and a great work-life balance. We have an amazing EAP that is available 24/7 to our employees. This position works (28) hours per week, Monday through Thursday, and has flexible start and end times. Best of luck to you in your future endeavors.

      Bad management , doesn’t care about employees, no real structure, bad management, doesn’t show how to work or handle situations , illegal activities.

      Co-workers are the reason why I stood there longer.

      Everything else about this place is bad. It is a toxic workplace that drains your soul little by little. Upper management is a tyrant, unprofessional, and vulgar human being. Most supervisors don't know how to do their job. If you are not liked by management, they will make your life a living hell by harassing you constantly like slaves. The humiliation, the set-up, the bully, and the oppression are insane. It's a hostile work environment and I highly recommend AVOIDING THIS PLACE.
