Pros

-Some flexibility, based on your manager. -Decent benefits. 401k, med, dental, vision, stock options -decent amount of vacation time that can be accrued

Cons

1. Top heavy management. An "old boy's network" with very little mid level positions. Basically looking for indentured servants to keep projects profitable. 2. Inconsistent performance evaluations. Depending on the project, some individuals are rewarded much more than others based on maintaining profitability, despite equivalent productivity. 3. Small fiefdoms where some managers are complete pr*cks and can make your life hell.

Pros

Flexible hours allow you to take care of personal matters without taking vacation time to do it. Co-workers are motivated and fun to work with. No cubicles -- everyone has their own office. Challenging work.

Cons

Salaries are a little lower than the industry average. Very little variety in work assignments, you end up doing the same thing every day. No management support for professional development or career advancement. Anything you do to advance your knowledge or skills must be done on your own time at your own expense. Expected to work excessive (80+ hours a week) overtime for extended periods (more than 2 years). Management is quick to criticize work, but refuses to acknowledge outstanding performance even when clients send commendations. Office leadership has no vision and is afraid to pursue opportunities in new industries.
