Pros

Opportunity to work with highly skilled engineers. Sincere and motivated work environment. Sufficient technical infrastructure to test and debug hardware related issues.

Cons

As a software/firmware engineer you are worthless. For TI, software is just something to be written in the air, and pure cost. Main focus of this company is to reduce cost of existing products, that means if you are working on a project which requires research and development you are on the gun. You may end up with lay-off even you are a top performer. Never ever use the word "Research" in your sentences. In brief TI is not an engineering company, it just driven by sales person without adhering any engineering skills.

Pros

The shift one is assigned to never changes, and therefore days off are almost set in stone. long weekends - 3 days off one week and four days the next. Great 1st job especially for anyone just out of college/ school. Very disciplined workforce. continuous training is provided to improve employee output.

Cons

The few employees working in the fabs are extremely overworked as T.i management strives to reduce cost of production. Therefore there are more tools to run per employee than humanly possible. Stress level is increased as suprintendents demand more from the already overstretched employee- and by the way mistakes/ accidents are not tolerated. While pay is better than walmart's, T.i could do better especially if you take into account the kind of profits it makes from this overworked employees' work." good luck" moving up- once a manufacturing specialist, you are condemned to stay as one forever.
