Pros

Very good company to work with. Very friendly and talented people. Some of the people had very long career with Texas Instruments.

Cons

Embedded processing business did not do well in last few years. Many people were also laid off due to slow down of the business.

Nice place to work, layoffs every year

Pros

Nice, benefits, great life-work balance, flexible hours. A lot of very talented people.

Cons

They tend to lay people off with little warning pretty much every year. Contractors are usually let go in mid December, permanent employees - at the end of January. Every year management says "We are done with the layoffs" only to let go of more people at the end of the year. This is a dying group at TI that produces a dying technology - calculators.

Pros

Very smart people, lots of freedom to do your job, opportunities to develop into an expert, good work/life balance.

Cons

Deep staff cuts over a multi-year period have eroded job security and have resulted in a massive brain-drain from the company.
