The Baldwin Group Response

The pace is incredibly fast here and we appreciate all you do. We have many initiatives underway to support efficiency and balanced workloads...Make sure also you take part in our Tour de France program this summer to learn mindfulness and recovery tactics to avoid exhaustion and burnout. There is so much opportunity, we hope you are finding great ways to take advantage and encourage you to speak with our Colleague Experience Coordinator if you have any ideas on more community/colleague activities you'd like to see! Thank you for your feedback...keep it coming!

Pros

* The leaders care about their colleagues. This is always evident, but never more so than during Hurricane Irma when they raised funds for colleagues impacted, rented hotel rooms for those who needed it, checked in to make sure everyone had supplies, allowed colleagues the time they needed to tend to their families and safety, allowed colleagues to bring their kids to work, provided lunch for colleagues, etc. They not only seek feedback on how they can improve, but they act on that feedback to continue making this a "best place to work". * The partners are competent. You don't see this at every organization - in fact you often wonder how some business owners have managed to fall into any kind of success, but at BKS you can see why they've been so successful. They strive for continuous improvement in themselves and lead by example. They are intelligent and emotionally intelligent. * The firm is focused on giving back to the community. If you are like-minded, you know how valuable it is to work for an organization that dedicates its own resources to giving back. Each colleague is afforded 3 days per year to dedicate to the cause of his/her choosing. The colleagues raise funds together and vote on the causes to which they will be donated. All of this is in addition to the time and money that the firm itself donates to community causes. * There is transparency. Firm performance is shared with all colleagues - there are no secrets. When the firm does well and when it doesn't, everyone gets a front row seat to the results. They share in financial success by way of bonuses. * There are plenty of opportunities for growth. You need to be committed to self-development, but BKS will help you reach your goals and provide opportunities and resources for your professional development. * There are snacks. Enough said.

Cons

* High growth means lots of change and a very fast pace. It requires adaptability. It often feels like there is more work than can be accomplished, and that can be overwhelming. The leadership team strives for everyone to have work-life balance, but we're not always as balanced as we'd like to be.

Pros

Growing company with focus on producers and account management. In transition from Mom & Pop mentality to larger organizational focus.

Cons

Poor benefits, inconsistent management directives. See comment above regarding difficulties with growing into a new corporate identity.
