Pros

Pretty cool company I guess, I have a bad taste in my mouth for the current store I am working in. 40% discount is nice if you can afford the product you're looking to purchase.

Cons

There are a bunch. Management is a joke, they are constantly degrading employees, threatening to fire associates on the sales floor, if you're not in the "in" group, they talk smack about you constantly. They will do returns under your numbers to be Petty, and to lower your commission rate, as well as ring sales up under you that are small so your numbers remain low for the week when you get your "report card". As an LIT, if you have an idea or something you want to push, they will tell you, "it's not the buckle way" and shoot you down, Everytime. They don't value alternative ways of thinking or selling, and if you're not posting good numbers they will find a reason to fire you. Elaborating on that, they will write you up for things that management does, being the most hippocritical store I have ever worked for.

Pros

The company values their guest that use the company credit cards which has good benefits.

Cons

At the location I was at training was a complete joke. I was there for a few months and wasn’t given the proper tools to be the best leader I could be. The store manager was too dependent on the “training” videos. The store manager just assumed everyone on the team knew how to do things correctly. When the store manager gave direction... it was short and unclear, then would get frustrated if it wasn’t done right. The store manager had favorites and didn’t respect the rest of the team. Overall a very bad experience when the company had been talked about so well by others.

Pros

Buckle has the best product so working with it made my job so much fun. I got the chance to travel and do store openings, go on store visits, help out with videos, interact with the Director of Visual Merchandising regularly, test new visual merchandising ideas, and work with various corporate teams. Working with my co-workers was a blast. Meeting so many leaders within the company and working alongside them is inspiring and made me really love working for Buckle. I worked at Buckle for about 5 years and made some great friends. I also learned a lot about various types of leadership styles and working with a variety of teams. I was good at my job at Buckle and got recognized for it on a regular basis. Buckle also has a great employee discount and some of the best medical benefits I have ever had. Buckle gets new product almost every day so you can build up quite a wardrobe working here. You also get overtime pay, which is awesome. If you are a creative person you will love doing visual at Buckle. Lots of good leaders in the company

Cons

The buckle doesn't really have a career path for visual merchandisers. So advancement can be tough unless you want to move into store management or into a role at the home office. I often would be the one working the hardest because I would put a lot of stuff on my plate to get done each day. It is hard though when you find yourself working harder than the store manager or when the store manager is constantly asking me how to do her job. I never received an employee review while working at Buckle. I would ask for one but never received one. Pay rate is also the lowest I have seen and getting a raise is hard. Compliments only go so far until you realize you are not getting paid what you are worth. Teammates can also get lazy and create little messes around the store and in the windows. Store managers can be hard to work with. I went from having a great store manager to a new, lazy store manager. This was a huge problem in my store. Buckle was one of the best jobs that I ever had. Although the pay was low I stuck with it because I was good at my job. With that being said I also had the worst experience I have ever had in my career working at Buckle. Be careful how you review the store manager because chances are they will see it.
