Pros

40% off. Face to face Sales experience. Flexible hours. Employees make the job doable. Got comfortable doing the uncomfortable which in sales is a huge plus and growth opportunity.

Cons

LOW pay. Unrealistic expectations. Management gets paid a TON more than entry level workers regardless of experience or education. I consider myself a good sales person and this job places unrealistic expectations on their employees and preys on those with shopping addictions to work there for the 40% off discount. On days when traffic is low, I could barely make enough to pay my rent and food and definitely no saving at all, FYI.

Pros

If you like a fast paced work environment, then you would enjoy working at the Buckle. It's very competitive which could fall under the con category as well. From personal experience, the store I worked at was very sales motivated. And when I first started it was definitely difficult to pick up guests of my own when you're competing with veteran teammates. But once you get your feet under you, it can be a very enjoyable atmosphere. i made life long friendships and gained valuable customer service experience. Employee discount is always a nice perk, too.

Cons

POOR MANAGMENT. Will overwork you until you're burnt out, especially if your store becomes short staffed during slow times of the year. Unprofessional work environment. Manager would talk poorly about other teammates/store managers while on the floor. Manager and leaders wouldn't give encouragement/positive feedback. Manager wouldn't decipline poor behavior amongst teammates. Manager was notoriously late which would promote other employees to be late. Would hire from the outside for positions instead of giving people from within the company an opportunity. Poor pay. Commission during the holidays and other busy times of the year is great. But Buckle needs to raise the base salary for those who work off commission. When it's slow during your shift or if it's slow for weeks at a time after the holidays, we get paid next to nothing.
