      Pros

      No repercussions because there is no accountability. Easy to be promoted without being expected to perform the duties of that position.

      Cons

      Toxic upper management. Terrible communication very little transparency. Promotes a cult like mentality. Lost nearly 75% of their subject matter experts by either termination or resignation within 2 years (any one that actually cares about the company, products, or customers have been pushed out).

      Thank you for your time with the Company. As you know we have had many major changes in the past 5 years with CBORD and Horizon merging. This large change wasnt an easy one but we feel that our culture has never been better! We have higher engagement and we are constantly looking for feedback on how to improve further!

      Old Methods, but trying hard to make a change

      Pros

      * Company CEO came in 2 years ago and has shaken up the way we do things. The message let's innovate something new and avoid industry disruptions. * Company culture is great... people like working with each other, even if we disagree sometimes * Everyone has a passion for the industries we serve. * People here are always willing to help, you just have to ask * We work on some really cool ideas in a really challenging/interesting set of industries * Very many here are excited about modernizing how we do our work * One person can affect change at CBORD

      Cons

      * Old ways (feeding the legacy products we have and customers who use them) are still fighting with a desire to progress into a modern software design organization * While the company supports life outside of work, each person carries a large workload--work quality suffers at times

      Seriously, it's a fine place to work

      Pros

      Financially stable technology company with a large and enthusiastic customer base. One of the best corporate jobs to have in Ithaca which is a fantastic place to live. Average tenure for employees is almost 10 years. Some have been here 20+ or 30+ years. That's almost unheard of in the tech world.

      Cons

      Going through changes makes a lot of people nervous, especially people who have been with the company a long time and remember "how it used to be." But for new employees not attached to the old days, it's fine. Yes, management is a bit chaotic, but that's to be expected for a company in the midst of a transformation.

      As mentioned in previous posts, change does indeed make some people nervous but for others it is invigorating and exciting. CBORD remains a leader in the industry because it is willing to change and adapt to its customers needs.
