Pros
The immediate team I worked with was excellent - career CBORDians that were excellent teammates.
Cons
Upper Management - mainly starting with the culture perpetuated by former President Max Steinhardt, and getting progressively worse under new President Jim Hoefflin, have long made it abundantly clear that they DO NOT value people as a company - they feel that you need them more than they need you and it shows in many of the decisions that have been made over the last several years. There are some holdouts that still care about people as more than a spreadsheet, but unfortunately they are not in upper management. The people-first, positive, fun culture started by John Alexander (the founder) is long gone. It has been replaced with a culture of uncertainty and fear of when the hammer is going to drop next. Everyone is miserable almost down to the person because they are being overworked (being asked to do a LOT more with less) and woefully underpaid and under appreciated. In fact, I feel horrible for those who are still there under this regime.......I wish they would realize that there is in fact life after CBORD - and there are so many other companies that actually treat their people like valued assets vs. an easily dispensable commodity. Upper management claims an open door policy, but do nothing to act on feedback provided by those who are actually in the trenches despite being told the same thing over and over again....it's like talking to a wall.
