Pros

This is not your typical "Collections Agency". They are professional, represent leaders in respective industries and thus take the high road. Good place for non-skilled workers as collectors. Another whole story for professionals. The company is a money maker for the owners and will be around so there is stability.

Cons

This is a family owned and run company. They are cheap and will squeeze blood from a rock, but then turn around and waste money on a pet project of the owner - and produce nothing. Older workers are let go as soon as they make good money and can be replaced with a younger person for less money. Absolutely no loyalty to the workers that make them successful and make them lots of money.

Pros

insurance plans and other benefits seem to be above average, and human resources is actually very receptive and helpful when needed

Cons

There is too much favoritism to both new and young employees often verging on age discrimination. Time off for "favorite" new employees is not questioned, while those who have actually earned it (PTO time) are discouraged from taking it. Some supervisors violate their own policies such as, for example, allowing some employees to put in for time off outside of the "30 day window". while others are told point blank they are not allowed to do this. "Occurences" are given to some employees, but not to others for the exact same situations, and some employees (including supervisors) have 6 and more occurences but not have been given warnings and have not been terminated. There is a supervisor who is out very frequently-every few weeks she takes 1 or more days off, and is setting a very poor example for the people who work for her. FAVORITISM, which might be considered as discrimination, often as age or in other ways is awful here, and might soon be an issue for human resources or taken to an outside, higher, level. "Policies" are inconsistently applied, and this is noticed-especially in the inconsistent application of occurences. I work in the Portsmouth, NH office in collections as a customer service agent.
