Pros

A lot of wonderful stuff happening all the time, engaging team members, great mentors (my negative experiences were specific to my department largely although other people experienced it).

Cons

Was told during the interview process about career mobility and the possibility for advancement as a young person coming in. Almost everyone I knew that was in my type of position left within a few years of me leaving because they were not promoted, not given raises, and given no chance for career mobility. Word to the wise for anyone interviewing.

The bureaucracy and favoritism is overwhelming and makes you loose interest in your work. HR can be frustrating

Pros

The Carter Center does good work, for a good man. All of their programs are respectable, and fellow employees are smart and vivacious.

Cons

Absolutely no appreciation for staff at any level. No room for advancement, especially for younger people who are trying to start their careers. There's a sense that because you get the honor of working for President Carter that you aren't allowed to ask for any other benefits. 2 percent annual raise offered yearly is ridiculous and doesn't even account for inflation and the rising costs of living.
