Pros

Lots of passionate coworkers and Emory benefits are decent (when HR doesn't get in the way or lie about their application). Work life balance is decent in that many folks can just turn their phone and email off after hours (a newish development).

Cons

TCC has a really hard time changing and desperately needs to evolve, some directors and managers spend less time facilitating good work and more time asking their supervisees to constantly re-explain their work. No union and return to office policies are arbitrary and unevenly applied. Very little room for growth, except for in special cases. At a certain level of seniority, people can make career-ending mistakes and TCC keeps them around as 'advisors'. Big silos between programs that lower level staff are expected to try to work across but managers often get in the way.

Great and Interesting Work Cost of Living in ATL better than DC

Cons

Little to no upward mobility Poor Middle management (The Center hires area experts as managers, instead of people with management experience)

Pros

You get to see former president Carter from time to time.

Cons

Incompetent staff. Lack of real leadership. Value placed on tenure versus actual quality of work. Operates more like an organization from the 1970s than one in 2016.
