Pros

The prisoners are fairly easy to get along with making the job more pleasant than not. There is an Abundance of overtime. You will make a lot of good friends among your coworkers.

Cons

The prisoners treat you better than the staff. The stress level is extremely high (because of the staff) Policy and procedure are two different things. Employee rules are constantly changing per convenience of management so you never know where you stand. They are highly understaffed therefore employees are constantly at risk. There are many "incidents" that are simply swept under the rug. They will hold you against your will, after your shift ends to force overtime. They will lock the gate or lock you in between doors. They are constantly threatening to fire you, or to take away vacation time that you have earned. You are expected to make up for their lack of managing skills.

Pros

I can not state any pros that within this company besides it being a rather secure job. The place is a revolving door.

Cons

Key positions at corporate, no room for advancement unless you are in operations or a buddy.
