Churn and Burn Sales Culture

Pros

-My direct supervisor was incredible -Health benefits were the best I ever had! So affordable and comprehensive

Cons

-The culture has definitely veered away from transparent and self-reflective. Upper management rewards people who drink the cool-aid and targets those with concerns. (I am truely shocked no one has pursued legal action at this point.) - The amount of people going on a PIP or being fired monthly is abysmal. Do not come here looking for job stability. -Base pay is really low. -Brand credibility is dwindling with the vendors. The product is becoming more difficult to sell by the year. -Work life balance is affected by the demand of this job. -Unless really desperate, my biggest advice is to just stay away at this point.

Pros

Remote WFH and unlimited PTO

Cons

low base salary and very hard to reach commission for anyone hired since 2024, commission is split over many months so to even make a livable commission check would take a year of solid consistent performance reaching the unattainable goals set out so expect your base salary as your only salary. Expect to be on a PIP WHILE ramping as they are only churning and burning reps. How does a company expect good and loyal sales reps if they act like instead of valuing them they are just getting them out the door as fast as possible with a long sales cycle environment???? Reps are financially stressed, stressed about having a sustainable job, how is that conducive to ANYONE when someone doesn't know if they will be employed still in the next month, two months, three months etc.?? OTE for new reps is not at all what is advertised, maybe that is from 2022/2023 but NOT 2024/2025 for new reps. hardly anyone is getting promoted in sales and not even half are hitting goal especially with drastic changes monthly only the tenured reps have a chance at real success

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re sorry to hear that your time with us has been marked by frustration and stress. The concerns you've raised—around compensation structure, commission attainability, ramp expectations, and job stability—are serious, and we want to acknowledge the real impact they have on our people. We know that strong performance comes from feeling supported, valued, and set up for success. That's why we're actively reviewing our compensation strategy, including base pay and commission structures for new hires, to ensure alignment with today’s market and with what it takes to succeed. We're also assessing how we can better support new reps during onboarding, improve transparency around OTE, and reduce pressure through achievable goals. We recognize we have work to do to rebuild trust and reinforce a culture where our sales teams feel secure, motivated, and appreciated. Thank you again for sharing this feedback; it plays an important role in shaping the actions we take next.

Company is SINKING & FAST

Pros

Unlimited PTO (but difficult to take without feeling guilty or being pressured to work on your time off) Work from home (who knows how much longer that will last) Incredible coworkers (until they were let go, fired, moved to different parts of the organization with 0 notice)

Cons

When I first started under TK , I sang the highest praises. It seemed like a company that cared about not only it's customers, but it's employees as well. Tim Chi was honestly a wonderful CEO. I was sad to hear when Tim decided to step down, and truly believe Raina Moskowitz is prepared to run the organization into the ground, and pulling any sister sites down with it. Sites like The Bump, The Bash, and Hitched are not even an after thought to this organization. So many people have stayed with these smaller sites because of their teams, and are now being ripped apart, for the benefit of TK only. But it's not like anyone can share this feedback safely with leadership. They don't listen to employees, the VOE is just there to say they've asked for the people's feedback. Don't get it twisted, they literally could not care more about anyone, but especially in a customer facing roles that burn out easily. Overall, leaving this company made me realize how outdated, out of touch and slimy this organization is. The pay is laughable, but in their minds, they can always find someone who will work for cheaper!! Know your worth and know they won't compensate you for it lol, just burn you out. Word to any potential new hires and people still working here, this organization is a sinking ship, and it's holes are being held together with duct tape. It may be floating just above water for now, but pretty soon the tape is gonna disintegrate and take down everyone still on the ship. Don't let yourself get caught on the sinking ship. Leadership will be sure to jump off into the life rafts but there's no room for the rest of y'all.

Thank you for taking the time to share your perspective. Your feedback highlights areas we are continually working to address—including transparent communication and feedback, employee wellbeing, and the need for more consistent support, particularly during times of change. We understand how difficult transitions can be, especially when they impact team members who are deeply valued. While we’ve made shifts to better serve our customers and position our global brands for success—including The Bump, The Bash, and Hitched—we recognize that the process hasn’t always felt clear. We look forward to sharing more about our three-year strategy with our employees in the coming months. We’re also investing in new ways to gather and act on employee feedback, with more frequent touchpoints and a renewed commitment to accountability. We encourage all employees to speak up, including through our two-way anonymous compliance hotline, and we have a strong anti-retaliation policy. We also hear concerns around compensation and burnout, especially in customer-facing roles, and have launched a series of reviews in 2025 focused on compensation workload evaluation, and leadership accountability. We don’t take these critiques lightly. We’re grateful to everyone—past and present—who has contributed to our mission. Your insights help us understand where we need to grow.
