Pros

Great benefits, tuition reimbursement, pto policy, work life balance is encouraged, great location if you live on the east side near Bellevue or Kirkland

Cons

Average salary, not bad but other companies will pay a little more They have a very old school company culture. I.e. most people still have desktops (no lap tops) and no IM messenger of any sort unless you get it approved. Which means if you just have a quick question you have to walk to that person's desk or send an email. Also means in meetings you will have to print things instead of bringing in your laptop and hooking it up to an HDMI cable. So they are very behind the curve in technology. I would highly suggest that if you are used to working for software/ tech companies such as Microsoft you think very carefully about working here because you might be very disappointed with the lack of technology and you will not be getting hands on experience with the most recent technology. Also they follow a very traditional SDLC such as agile and scrum. So if you are used to "doing your own thing" and prefer a hands off management approach this is not the place you. You will feel a little annoyed by the more micro managed approach.

Pros

Good pay w/ annual raises and bonuses, great benefits, somewhat flexible hours, company culture surrounding inter-department communication and transparency from upper management has improved greatly.

Cons

Don't expect much training except for on-the-job from your coworkers. This means that most people in the different departments have their own personal ways to do their work and most people have a fuzzy at best knowledge of the actual company procedures and policies. Employees who go above and beyond in the workplace are expected to continually pursue a higher standard of work quality while other employees are able to skate by and rely on their coworkers to handle their responsibilities, with little to no acknowledgement or repercussion from management. Managers seem to withhold as much information as possible, sometimes preventing employees from doing their jobs in the name of confidentiality. Overall a very stressful place to work if you are the type of person who becomes invested in your workplace and strives to succeed and advance. If you are the type of person who is comfortable with doing the absolute bare minimum of work, then this is the job for you.
