Pros

Interesting business model, solid marketing strategy

Cons

Re-located to the bay on my own dime for what I thought would be a higher paying with commission position with room for growth and wound up being put in the warehouse to assist the individuals with the job I initially applied for, for very low pay. Apparently the company favors individuals who love and possess high-priced designer items over those with education, industry-specific experience and high work ethic like myself.

Pros

I can’t think of anything at all.

Cons

I wish I listened to the reviews before I worked here. I thought, “how bad could it be?” Awful and truly terrible company to work for. You are at best a glorified UPS driver with unrealistic goal expectations and terrible pay. No upward mobility whatsoever, and I have never been so micromanaged before in my entire career. I was actually a good employee, and for the most part hit my goals. Though, I pretty much had to harass people for their things because that’s what the company wants you to do. The management would harass their employees to harass their base, which was so stressful. Management would push for their teams to work weekends and even work during vacations, if you were even lucky enough to get it approved. Everyone there is miserable, including most consignors since the majority of their things were lost, damaged, or sold at the lowest price. Customer service would also fumble the ball so many times with the consignors, that you would often lose them, thus you losing units to your goal. Also, because of customer service being absolutely no help, the consignors will blow your phone up 24/7 and there’s nothing you can do about it other than be their punching bag. The favoritism is so noticeable and the turnover is high. Do yourself a favor and run. They’ve already done multiple layoffs and I don’t doubt they’ll have more within the short future. This company is hemorrhaging money.

Pros

An extremely easy job in nature, this role used to be filled with fashionistas with fashion backgrounds, then they turned it into an entry level job so anyone can do it. Everyone’s new here, it’s a revolving door. There’s always new energy!

Cons

Ugh where do I begin… 1. you have to be really resilient to stay in this job for more than 6 months. 2. Manager will micromanage you because their managers are micromanaging them. 3. There’s no internal growth and don’t expect to move laterally either. 4. a lot of people are unhappy in the role and there are a lot of back stabbers 5. Be careful what you say to others. Retaliation happens. (It may not happen but sometimes it does… ) 6. Don’t get into this job just because you want a job in fashion. This is a sales position so unless you’re ready to head in that direction for your next career step, it’s good to think it through
